London Heathrow Airport

London Heathrow Airport or Heathrow located in London, England, is the largest and busiest airport in the United Kingdom. It is the world's third busiest airport for passenger traffic and it handles more international passenger traffic than any other airport in the world.[2] Heathrow is owned and operated by BAA, which also owns and operates six other UK airports.[3] BAA is itself owned by an international consortium led by the Spanish Ferrovial Group.[4] Heathrow is the primary hub of British Airways, BMI and Virgin Atlantic.
Located 15 miles (24 km) west of Central London, England, Heathrow has two parallel main runways running east-west and five terminals. The site covers 12.14 square kilometres (4.69 square miles). Terminal 5 was officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II on 14 March 2008 and opened to passengers on 27 March 2008. Construction of Heathrow East, to replace Terminal 2 and The Queen's Building, began in 2008, and is expected to be completed by 2012. Terminals 3 and 4 will also be refurbished during this period. In November 2007 a consultation process began for the building of a new third runway.

LEXUS IS F

The Lexus IS is a series of entry-level luxury cars/compact executive cars produced by the Lexus marque of Toyota Motor Corporation. The IS was introduced as an entry-level sport model slotted below the ES in the Lexus lineup. The IS was originally sold as the Toyota Altezza in Japan until the introduction of the second generation Lexus IS design. The Altezza name is still used at times to depict chromed car taillights like those fitted to the first generation model.
The first generation Altezza (codename XE10) was launched in Japan in October 1998, while the Lexus IS 200 (JCE10) made its debut in Europe in 1999 and in North America as the IS 300 in 2000. The first generation, straight-6-powered IS featured sedan and wagon variants. The second generation IS (GSE20) was launched globally in 2006 with V6-powered IS 250 and IS 350 sedan models. A high-performance V8 version, the IS-F, premiered in 2007. According to Lexus, the IS designation stands for Intelligent Sport.

BMW M3 race car

Porsche and Ferrari watch out. BMW is returning to the American Le Mans Series in 2009 with the M3. And it’s going to be quick. Tweaked by BMW Motorsport, the 4.0-litre V8 will produce 485bhp and 368lb ft. By comparison, the road-going M3 makes do with 414bhp and 295lb ft.The rest of the spec is pretty impressive too. Braking is by 380mm discs up front, 322mm at the rear. Weight-wise the M3 has lost 505kg, so it tips the scales at a mere 1150kg. Not bad considering the whopping, endurance-spec 110-litre fuel tank, and most of the body is carbonfibre-reinforced plastic.

Rahal Letterman Racing will run two cars in the 2009 ALMS, while this year is for testing. The team previously ran a Porsche 911 RSR in the 2007 season. At the unveiling of the car at the Chicago Auto Show co-owner of the team Bobby Rahal said: ‘This is a very important day for the future of Rahal Letterman Racing and we are eagerly anticipating playing a lead role in returning BMW to the front of the grid’. BMW incidentally won the first ever ALMS race at Sebring in 1999, with the Prototype-class V12 LMR.

And at least this time BMW will be sticking to the rulebook. In 2001 the company campaigned the E46 M3 GTR in the ALMS GT class. Only the car was running a 4.0-litre V8 - and there was no roadgoing V8 M3. The car caused controversy, and outcry from the Porsche teams, especially as the M3 dominated the entire season.

Just three road-going M3 GTRs are ever thought to have been built, with the race-spec 450bhp 4.0-litre V8 detuned to 350bhp. For a while BMW almost didn’t acknowledge the existence of the GTR, but with the latest M3 gaining V8 power the old racer has been welcomed back into the Bavarian family.

Cadillac CTS Coupe

The Cadillac CTS Coupe was the surprise of the 2008 Detroit Motor Show. And less than three months after GM whipped the covers off the concept, CAR’s spies have caught the production car testing.

CAR can confirm that the CTS Coupe will be coming to Europe in 2010. The four-seat two-door is based on the CTS platform, which has been engineered for right-hand drive conversion. The CTS Coupe should be a decent car too, because the four-door saloon is the best-handling Cadillac ever.

Cadillac CTS Coupe: the looks

The edgy, sharply creased design that has graced the past two generations of CTS saloon remains. Unfortunately some GM cost-cutting means the lights and grille are now standard CTS saloon items, rather than the funkier items from the concept. The black B-pillar is also a change from the concept’s flush glasshouse.

However, the door handles on the test car are conspicuous by their absence. It might be one concept car feature that makes production.

Coys showbiz sale at Lords

Coys' Monday evening sale at the Lords cricket ground drew bidders for cars with some connection to celebrities past and present.

A 1967 Ford Mustang GT390 Fastback, replicating the car used by Steve McQueen in the film Bullitt sold for more than twice its estimate at £53,726, showing a rise in interest for Americana.

A right hand drive 1962 Mercedes-Benz 190SL - formerly the property of broadcaster Chris Evans, sold for £32,346 and a 1986 Mercedes Benz 560E AMG formerly owned by George Harrison and Jeff Lynne of ELO sold for £12,000.

Rowan Atkinson's 1929 Austin 7 Ulster Replica complete with a genuine Ulster engine sold for £8,235.

A silver Aston Martin DB5 described as 'in immaculate condition' made only £163,800 though, which seemed a fairly modest result.

Aston Martin V8 Volante Vantage 6 L engine

Superb Aston Martin V8 Volante automatic transmission with new engine redone in the Vantage specifications with a cubic capacity of 6 litres. This V540 Cabriolet was delivered new to the USA and subsequently imported to Germany. The current owner bought it from the previous German owner, a pensioner who only used his Aston Martin to drive to the Golf course.

Ferrari F430 CS

the lowdown Ferrari is about to take the fight to homegrown rival Lamborghini's front door. This autumn it will unveil a hardcore F430 derivative as a riposte to the upstart Gallardo Superleggera. Seems like recent eco concept the Mille Chili wasn't a sign that Maranello had gone all soft after all... The range-topping F430 - dubbed Challenge Stradale after its predecessor - is Ferrari back to business as usual. It'll be the hardest, fastest bottom-rung sports car it's ever made.
So what's new on the F430 Challenge Stradale?
